Big Red Bands Advisory Council

The BRB Advisory Council meets twice a year and manages the long-term goals of the bands. The Advisory Council is made up of BRBAA officers, undergraduate band officers, and members of the university administration.

Alumni members are elected for two-year terms by the membership of BRBAA, undergraduate band officers serve for one year, and adminstration officials serve ex officio.


Pat Carr ’96 (tuba) has been the chair of BRBAA since 2001 and on the Advisory Council since 1999. Pat completed his doctorate at Cornell in 2003 and is now an exploration geologist in sunny northern Québec.


Scott Pesner ’87 (clarinet) the BRBAA vice-chair and is in his third term on the advisory council. Scott resides in Manhattan where he works in entertainment marketing.


Lowell Frank ’99 (trumpet) is in his third term as BRBAA treasurer. Lowell graduated from the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City (class of ’03) and is now a fellow in pediatric cardiology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he lives with his wife, Sam (Cornell ’96).


Eva Chiamulera ’97 (sax) is in her first term as the BRBAA resource chair and her third term on the Advisory Council. Eva also holds a master’s degree in historic preservation from Cornell, and is currently a landscape architect with Austin Ganim Landscape Design in Fairfield, Connecticut.


Ilyse Gerson Cody ’02 (trumpet) is the BRBAA events coordinator in her first Advisory Council term. She lives in Boston with husband Brian (trumpet ’00).


Scott Pesner ’87 (clarinet), in his second term, is the BRBAA secretary. Scott resides in Manhattan, where he works in entertainment marketing.


John Maltby ’56 (tuba) has served as an at-large member of the Advisory Council since 2001. Reverend Maltby is the pastor of Miller Memorial Presbyterian Church in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey.


Mary Quillian ’93 (percussion) is in her second term as an at-large member of the Advisory Council. She holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and lives in the District of Columbia, where she does something or another.


Jen Evans Allard ’94 (flute) is in her first term as an at-large member of the Advisory Council. Jen teaches math at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County, Virginia.


Tom LaFalce ’94 (tuba) is in his second term as an at-large member of the Advisory Council. From 1997 to 2004, Tom was the bands advisor in athletics. Tom now works for Cornell Alumni Affairs and Development and lives in Ithaca with his wife Marisa (Cornell ’96).


Rebecca Priebe ’08 is the BRB head manager.


Matt Caulfield ’08 is the BRB drum major.


Eric Frackleton ’08 (trumpet) is the BRB treasurer. He is a double major between math (in A&S) and computer science (in Engineering).


Jason Endriss ’08 (horn) is the Pep Band manager for the second year in a row. Jason is majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and hails from Stacy, Minnesota. He previously served as historian for the Pep Band.


Eric Heumann ’08 is the Pep Band treasurer.


Matt Coats is the bands advisor.


Matt Marsit is the music advisor. He is the assistant director of wind ensembles for the university, and was previously director of bands and a member of the clarinet faculty at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
